Unfortunately, I have heard of this before from some clients of mine.
There are several breeds of dogs that the insurance companies feel are "dangerous" even though I think it is unfair to rule all dogs under one breed to be dangerous. I have seen several passive dogs that are from aggressive breeds.
I have even heard of this happening from owners who have trampolines in their backyards.
If I remember correctly, the insurance broker I spoke to a few years ago about this told me he wasn't aware of ANY insurance companies who would insure rottweilers.
